WDR Europaforum 2024: Germany ahead of the European elections

Among those who vote for far-right parties are not only those who are actually affected by poverty, but also those who are afraid of it. What does an economic policy that creates confidence look like? Robert Habeck, Economics and Climate Protection Minister and Vice-Chancellor, addresses this question. Former German President Joachim Gauck and historian Christina Morina will also talk about the right way to deal with populists and extremists. In contributions from Brussels, top German candidates for the European elections will be presented and outgoing MEPs will take a look back at their time in the European Parliament.
